Position Summary
Responsible for supporting business operations including, but not limited to, researching new vendors, tracking vendor purchase order acknowledgements, tracking deliveries and updating purchase order records.
Essential Functions
· Issue and maintain Purchase Orders.
· Position will work closely with Director of Procurement on special projects.
· This position will require the ability to follow thru on assignments and complete tasks on time and with little supervision.
· Provide support to buyers with daily tasks including contacting suppliers regarding past due orders and price negotiation.
· Monitor order status (early and late) and enter acknowledgements and quotes into ERP software.
· Communicate and interact effectively with buyers, internal and external customers, and suppliers on any purchasing related items.
· Support financial team including invoice support, resolution of inconsistencies or discrepancies identified as result of 3-way match (comparison of purchase order to receipt to invoice), and dispositions including resolution of materials, variances or issues.
· Supplier performance tracking and communication.
· Master and execute Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) interface software.
· Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement related to cost, quality, delivery, and service;
· Maintain compliance with generally accepted and Company and departmental purchasing policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Minimum Associates degree preferred in business or other closely related field.
· Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience preferred.
· ERP experience.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organization skills.
· Ability to multitask.
· Familiarity with engineering drawings and a manufacturing environment.
· Microsoft Office suite experience with a demonstrated proficiency in Excel.
· Ability to work overtime as needed.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and suppliers.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
· Ability to solve practical problems.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

· Sitting, standing;
· Occasional Walking, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching or crawling;
· Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.;
· Hand and finger dexterity;
· Ability to see close and at distances, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and to adjust focus.
