True North Clinical Research is conducting ground-breaking research in Nova Scotia with clinics located in Halifax and New Minas. We play an important role in improving treatments for people with conditions like Alzheimer’s Disease, depression, and diabetes, among others. Clinical trials are an essential part of developing these new, potentially life-changing drugs. Description:
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all operations within the office run smoothly, by performing a wide and diverse list of duties. The essence of this position is: supporting company operations by maintaining office systems while using a proactive, organized mindset, as well as working in collaboration with their fellow administrative support specialist on staff.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative
· Greet all patients and visitors
· Ensure office is stocked with supplies (paper, pens, coffee, etc.…)
· Answer phone and direct calls as necessary
· Sort and distribute all mail, emails, and faxes
· Complete reminder phone calls
· Tidy waiting room and patient washroom
· Manage the Memory Clinic and Genetic Testing schedule for the Halifax location
· Filing, organizing, and faxing memory clinic paperwork
Accounting & Finance
· Submits all invoices for office expenses
· Manage petty cash
Business Intent & Culture
· Foster personal and team alignment with organizational values
· Monitor and improve communication, morale, commitment, and energy levels

Education & Experience:
· University/College degree/diploma is required
· Medical Administration experience is preferred

Salary & Hours:
The starting salary for the Support Specialist will be $28,000 – 32,000 per year. This is a full-time position with the first three months being a probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period the successful candidate will also be eligible for the group benefits, including health and dental care. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 08:30am to 4:30pm.
