The Acquisition Finance group supports and facilitates new revenue growth through integrated origination and execution of capital structure alternatives and traditional banking revenue products across multiple specialty industry and client coverage teams. Acquisition Finance structures, underwrites and closes leveraged debt transactions for clients and private equity firms in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Community Commercial Banking, driving and directing the process and activities necessary to obtain Truist’s balance sheet commitment as well as supporting distribution risk decisions.
Acquisition Finance team members have significant leveraged lending experience, capital structure knowledge, and legal and documentation expertise. They are expected to demonstrate strong negotiation and persuasion skills during their interactions externally with C-level corporate management and private equity clients, and internally with Investment Banking partners and Risk Management. The debt transactions which involve Acquisition Finance are typically the most complex, highest revenue generating and time sensitive within the firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist senior Acquisition Finance teammates and deal teams to navigate complex financial models, analyze financial statements, review and distill voluminous diligence information, and draft concise and accurate credit memoranda to support leveraged finance transactions for buyouts, acquisitions, growth capital, dividend recaps or other material balance sheet restructuring for corporations and private equity clients.
Support coordination of debt capital market product teams, Investment Banking and Risk Management to win and implement a complete financing solution.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of financial performance drivers and utilize available resources to verify the diligence thesis for leveraged transactions while organizing key internal components for credit presentations and approvals.
Develop ability to negotiate key financial structure, credit agreement and legal documentation issues necessary to successfully originate and syndicate financing commitments for clients and prospects.
Demonstrate knowledge of CIB products, policies and procedures.
Mentor and guide Analyst’s development and work quality.
Have at least 3 years of related training and experience.

BA/BS degree
4 years of related work experience
Strong knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector, and/or financial products
Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation or review of in-depth financial models involved in transactions
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Advanced skills in written and oral communications, and interpersonal relationship management
Solid analytical skills
