TVNZ Looking for Electrician at Auckland CBD, Auckland Full Time

The opportunity – Te tūranga

In this role as our Electrician reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and developing the technical, electrical and mechanical systems of the Television Centre to meet TVNZ and legal requirements.

In this role you will be busy all day:

• Carrying out installation, maintenance and development of the systems within the Television Centre
• Supporting ongoing HVAC maintenance in accordance with AS/NZS 3666.2 : 2011
• Carrying out safety checks and certification of electrical plant including PAT compliance
• Work on live plant
• Research, development and implementation of new installations or modifications to existing installations
• Keeping accurate records, updating wiring diagrams and technical drawings for any change or installation
• Work with clients to meet their needs.
• Liaise with electrical supply authorities
• Comply with TVNZ’s Health and Safety requirements, identifying and reporting hazards, reporting accidents.
• Identify and initiate corrective action on all electrical and mechanical systems.
• Undertake project work as required from time to time.

Education & Qualifications

• Must be a registered electrician with a current practising licence

Experience and Knowledge

• Critical power knowledge and understanding of power backup systems
• Broad understanding of cooling systems and HVAC systems (desirable)
• Qualified and able to work on a wide variety of equipment used in the Television Centre
• Take sole responsibility for project work ensuring that the project is planned and completed without supervision and on schedule
• Thorough knowledge of electrical regulations
• Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams, including minor HVAC, plumbing and building works.
