Summary About the Position: Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist part of the G-43, Logistics Plans and Operations Division’s mission to operationalize logistics programs deemed necessary by the Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG) Healthcare Operations (HCO)/US Army Medical Command (USAMEDCOM) G-3, located in Falls Church, VA. Responsibilities Analyzes and assesses the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations, or analyzes and resolves problems in the staffing, effectiveness, and efficiency of logistics readiness and support functions. Contributes to the plans, goals, effectiveness and efficiency of the missions and operationalize logistics programs as deemed by Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG) Healthcare Operations (HCO)/US Army Medical Command (USAMEDCOM) G-3. Work involves timely medical logistics planning support (supplies, equipment, and maintenance) to Army medical units in support of exercises, alerts, mobilizations, deployments, sustainment, and redeployments. Identify and propose solutions to readiness and mobilization problems characterized by their breadth, importance, and severity for which previously used study techniques are adequate. Plan, organize, and lead readiness operations, deployment and mobilization study teams and to negotiate effectively with high level officials to accept and implement recommendations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing medical logistics planning and operations support of class VIII, equipment, and related maintenance to units operating in support of the Range of Military Operations. Experience with medical logistics laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of one or more important Army programs. Understanding of supply systems, techniques, and procedures of medical logistics and readiness program goals. Designing and conducting comprehensive medical logistics studies to address and solve problems encountered; plan, organize and direct team study work, logistics management, readiness and mobilization operations and the related policies, regulations, and precedents sufficient to provide sound recommendation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Manpower & Personnel Organizational Awareness Product Support and Sustainment Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
