Summary About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, Personnel Services Branch, Personal Property Section. Responsibilities Coordinate storage and/or delivery of personal property to comply with established guidelines and/or procedures. Initiate quarterly inspections of inbound and/or outbound personal property shipments ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Conduct counseling sessions to advise on transportation entitlement matters. Assist service members initiating claims for reimbursement for shipments made at personal expense. Examine invoices submitted for payment by contractor for completeness prior to forwarding to finance. Utilize automatic data processing systems, such as Transportation Operational Personal Property Standard System (TOPS) and Defense Personal Property System (DPS), to prepare necessary transportation documents. Prepare transportation documents, such as Government Bills of Lading (GBL), to support the movement of personal property. Serve as liaison between customer and carrier/agent in the resolution of disagreements regarding carrier performance and/or customer responsibilities. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes determining and/or advising on personal property entitlements, such as: shipment storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, mobile homes, carrier equipment, facilities and services, as well as liabilities, claims, and/or protection of personal property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Technology Application Transportation Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
