Position Overview:

As Vice President of Marketing and Communications, you will lead the design, planning, and execution of marketing campaigns to achieve the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s revenue goals. You will develop and implement strategic marketing plans to enhance brand awareness for existing and new programs while overseeing special events aimed at generating brand recognition and revenue. Collaborating closely with the Development team, you will ensure that marketing materials are compelling and tailored to various donor segments. Your role will involve managing strategic communications, media relations, and content strategies as well as the marketing budget and expenditures.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and execute marketing campaigns to meet the Foundation’s overall revenue goals.
• Develop and implement marketing plans to increase brand awareness of existing Foundation programs (e.g., Workforce, Civics, Global Threats, and Disaster Resiliency) and the launch of new programs.
• Conceptualize, guide, and support special events to generate brand awareness and revenue.
• Work closely with the Development team to ensure marketing collateral and sales enablement materials are compelling and customized to donors (e.g. Corporate, Foundations, and HNWIs).
• Collect and interpret data to assess addressable target markets and competitive analysis.
• Oversee strategic communications, media relations, and other communication programs.
• Create content strategies to build brand awareness of Foundation programs.
• Manage the marketing budget and expenditures.
• Recruit, manage, and build the Communications team.
• Set and monitor staff performance and professional development goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior management role either in-house or with an agency.
• Passion for the Foundation’s mission to harness the power of business to create solutions for the good of America and the world.
• Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker.
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Able to effectively interface with senior management, the Foundation Board of Directors, and staff.
• Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive marketing, communications, and media relations program to advance the organization’s mission and goals.
• Extensive writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communication media.
• Superior management skills and the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
• Stature, gravitas, and confidence to gain the credibility of internal and external stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is $167,090.00 to $200,000.00, with the possibility of additional compensation through a discretionary bonus. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors.
