UCLA Health Hiring for Staff Research Associate at Los Angeles, CA Full Time

The TORL Lab is seeking to hire a full time Staff Research Associate to join the team in a unique role that will entail an extensive amount of tissue culture work, including maintenance of human cancer cell lines as well as cell proliferation assays. You will assist in preparation, management and daily use of critical laboratory resources including frozen tumor tissue and cell line stocks. You will also be responsible for cataloging and management of data received from experiments using relational computer database. Ideal candidate will be skilled in isolation of biological materials (DNA, RNA, and protein) and generation of western and northern blots.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience in biology, microbiology or related area.
• Ability to maintain proper usage of laboratory equipment
• Experience in culture tissue procedures
• Ability to perform gel electrophoresis
• Skills in using computer and Excel software
• Ability to organize raw data into relevant formats.
• Ability to communicate well, work in a team environment organized and must be able to keep detailed notebook.

Preferred:

• Experience in tissue culture, cell maintenance type work as well as cell proliferations assays.
• Experience monitoring of drug efficacy and toxicity of novel anti-cancer compounds.
