Read on to learn more!KnowledgeMinimum High School diploma or equivalent preffered but not required.Minimum 3-6 months experience working with lumber is preferred; but not required3-6 Months prior production/manufacturing facility experience is preferredDemonstrated knowledge of basic math.Able to read a tape measureAbility to quickly determine lumber types and styles.Skills and abilitiesAbility to work in a safe mannerAbility to recognize size/grade/quality of materialAbility to correctly read a tape measure and moisture meterAbility to understand basic math and numbersDemonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directionsDemonstrate ability to use and operate hand tools and other equipment as requiredDemonstrate ability to stack material properlyAbility to pay attention to surroundingsAbility to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctionsAbility to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English.Ability to work under immediate supervisionAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work hours mandated by managementSafety consciousTeam player and goal orientedOpen to change and positive attitudeCommitted to plant and company goalsParticipates in Safety programsPunctual and reliableLooks for ways to improve productivity and department resultsPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesStacks material in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finish product.Checks stacking schedule and completes orders in accordance to schedule.Ensures correct quantities and material are stacked, strapped, labeled and removed from work area in a safer manner.Verifies equipment for safety concerns.Completes pre-shift inspections and reports any problems to supervisor.Records production on production sheets and reports any discrepancies and problems to supervisor.Participates in safety and other programs.Performs other duties as required.Transportation to and from work.Universal Forest Products and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equal opportunity employers.
