This Sr. Software Engineer position requires excellent analytical skills and experience in all the phases of Software Development lifecycle. Some of the technologies used by our team are Java, Kafka, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions. We are looking for a passionate engineer who values quality, and truly enjoys what they do. The qualified candidate for this position is someone who has a can-do attitude and is an innovative thinker.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, and maintain software applications in highly distributed data processing systems.

• Work in an agile environment and collaborate with Developers, Business Analyst, Architects and leads to ensure the quality of the product.

• Foster the culture of delivering quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process.

• Identify and develop automation opportunities in the release and validation process.

• Assist the team with shifting products over CI/CD pipelines, and help to set the quality standard with the team.

• Present and explain technical concepts to a wide variety of stakeholders and end-users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer using an object-oriented languages on the JVM: Java, Scala and/or Kotlin

• Experience with working in Agile environment and CI/CD driven testing culture.

• Experience with public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure etc.) especially related to a data platform

• Experience working with database objects (SQL/ NoSQL).

• Proficiency in writing clean, modular code using proven design patterns

• Foster the culture of delivering quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process.

• Understanding of source control technologies such as GIT, SVN, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with BigQuery and Dataflow

• Experience with CQRS

• Experience with Event Sourcing with Akka or Kafka streams

Experience, Education, Certification, License and Training

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
