As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining existing payroll and web-based products and building new functionality. Embedded within a development team, you will work side by side with other Developers, Quality Analysts and Business Analysts to create applications and validate quality. You will write code using your specialized knowledge of coding techniques, tech stacks and best practices, as well as your knowledge of technical architecture and design. In our highly collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to continually grow as an engineer and eventually help mentor others.

• Experience developing cutting-edge solutions to maximize performance, scalability, and distributed processing capabilities

• Develop and unit test complex coding solutions for both existing legacy systems and net new development initiatives

• Proven understanding of enterprise-scale OOP (Object Oriented Programming) software utilizing SaaS design principles

• Ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause-analysis for system-related issues in Enterprise level software

• Proven ability to work independently to coordinate and implement solutions for complex technical issues

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Proven ability to provide leadership with new development efforts, historical success with contributing to the design and estimation of new features

• Positive, highly-organized team player with a can-do attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to successfully work within a team and adapt to a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities

• Ability to travel to annual team conference

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline or equivalent experience

• 1-2 years coding in a functional or OOP language (Object Oriented Programming), Data Structures and Algorithms

• 1-2 years using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and a strong understanding of relational database principles

• Experience designing and programming in ASP .Net, C# and .Net Framework using Visual Studio, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, HTML5Experience with Git as a software repository/version control system

• Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and/or IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions

• Experience with the development of API’s, Microservices, Web Services and/or Forms development

• Understanding of Agile or Lean Software Development experience such as Kanban or Scrum

• Experience working directly with customers and end-users

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kubernetes and GCP

• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or Knockout

• Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ, Kafka

• Experience with Payroll and Human Capital Management

• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices

• Proficiency with tools such as Postman, Jira or equivalent

• Experience building and maintaining scalable applications using Cloud technologies and Docker containers
