Our client is an Auckland based AI start-up which leads the retail industry in demand planning software, utilizing AI for highly accurate consumer demand forecasting. The highly sophisticated platform enables retailers to boost sales, minimize working capital, and maximize profits, surpassing traditional spreadsheet methods. Our client works with some of the largest retailers in New Zealand.

The Role

The role of the Chief Product Officer (CPO) is to lead the ongoing development and delivery of our client’s enterprise forecasting SaaS and support customer onboarding and success. The successful candidate will ensure that the agreed development and product roadmap is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards. The CPO will ensure all new and existing customers are successfully set up, onboarded, and managed for growth with the company. The CPO will own the development of the SaaS product, advising the management team and board of progress, ensuring the well-being of the product development team, reporting risks and recommending solutions. This role will work closely with the CEO and the executive team to align the program with the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Skills Required

• We’re looking for someone who’s a self-starter, takes ownership of things and is not afraid to be critical and push back when required.
• While this is a senior position and requires product strategy and roadmap development experience, it is essential that you’re still hands-on and are not shying away from rolling up your sleeves. We need high-level leadership but you must get things done yourself.
• Your role essentially sits between Sales, Data Science and Development and you must be equiped to orchestrate all parties to ensure good customer outcomes.
• Experience with setting up and managing customer success functions is crucial.
• You feel very comfortable with engaging and indirectly managing technical teams.
• Ideally you bring some start-up experience where you’re used to wearing multiple hats.
• A bonus would be if you’d bring experience dealing with and managing off-shore teams.
