Unijobs on behalf of our client, The Health Service Executive, have an immediate requirement for a front-line night shift Clerical Officer to work within their Emergency Department, this post is at a Clerical Grade III level. This role will initially be running on a month-to-month basis with any interested candidates to be available to commence work immediately. The Emergency Department Clerical Officer role will consist of 37 hours per week on a Monday to Friday basis, working from 21.00 – 04.00am. The hourly rate of pay is €13.00. The successful candidate will join the current clerical officer on night duty so will have someone always working alongside them.

Purpose of the Post

To provide comprehensive administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the Emergency Department.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dealing with the public – involves interaction with patients & clinical staff
• Assisting with Check in of patients and performing admissions for the wards
• Preparation, checking & processing of data
• Filing of diagnostic reports for patient charts
• Clerical assistance
• Maintaining / updating records as required
• Word processing / typing including audio typing
• Reception duties
• Preparation of reports often to tight deadlines
• Supporting research projects
• Any other administrative support as requested
• Any other duties that may be assigned
