Unijobs DAC are recruiting for a Research Assistant to join a research team in the Technological University of the Shannon Midlands (Athlone Campus).

The start date is immediate and is for a period of 6 months. This position is temporary, full time, working 37 hours per week. The rate of pay for this position is €14.08 per hour.

The role will be of interest to an individual who is passionate about youth mental health, and/or the mental health of students. The role will involve researching and curating evidence-based resources, literature reviews and searches, generating reports, liaising with student mental health professionals and other student services, organising training events.

Closing date 12pm 17th December.

Education and Experience

• Essential: higher diploma or master’s degree in psychology or other relevant area
• Relevant knowledge/experience in the field of psychology and/or education
• knowledge of mental health, mental health difficulties and an understanding of the issues affecting young people/students in higher education
• Demonstrated ability in research, including search strategies
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Excellent IT skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, in person and remotely

Duties & Responsibilities

• Online resource curating/evaluation and content creation
• Producing appropriate dissemination material and results of the research
• Writing reports and creating support materials
• Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborating with the Project Manager, and research team in the design, development and implementation of the broader research programme
• Contributing to the organization of seminars and workshops
• Contributing to the organisation and data management of focus groups
• Contributing to all aspects of the research programme under the supervision and direction of the research lead
• Carrying out administrative work associated with the programme of research as necessary
• High degree of efficiency and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational, analytical, written and verbal communications skills
• Able to work successfully in a team environment in person and with remote colleagues, building effective working relationships
• Ability to adapt to and manage challenges
• High motivation, energy & enthusiasm
