Unijobs on behalf of our client the HSE have a requirement for a System Tester to work within their HBS Estates Function on a significant project – National Estates Information System (NEIS). The NEIS offices are based in Tullamore. The preference is for the selected candidates to be based in Tullamore or at least have a presence there (minimum of 2 days per week). Initial arrangements may be part work from home/onsite in line with Government guidelines.

The duration of the post is 12 months with the possibility of an extension thereafter. Working 37 hours per week, the successful candidates will be employed as agency employees and paid an hourly rate of €22.86 based on a salary of €44,128 with annual leave accrued based on 30 days per year.

Details of Service

HBS Estates is responsible for maximising the value of HSE properties and facilities. It ensures that appropriate infrastructure is in place when and where required in order to enhance patient, client and staff wellbeing, by managing the organisations capital infrastructure and annual capital plan. It provides expert advice, delivers capital projects and manages the approval, governance, design, planning, procurement, construction, equipping, commissioning and maintenance of healthcare facilities.

Purpose of the Post

The Role of a System Tester is an integral part to the successful delivery National Estates Information System. The system tester will be responsible for defining the testing activities, understanding what needs to be tested – have knowledge of the full system requirements, test planning, test scripts, documentation.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for assisting the NEIS system supplier with the preparation of and execution of system integration testing and user acceptance testing. This will include integration, data migration and functional testing.

• Liaise closely with the during system integration testing (SIT).
• Carry out full system tests on each iteration to ensure the software is free of errors and bugs.
• Responsible for creating test scripts and test scenarios
• Prepare test data to work through all processes and workflows.
• Test the product in controlled, real situations before going live
• Carry out regression testing as required
• Execute all the test case and report defects, define severity and priority for each defect.
• Responsible for designing testing scenarios for usability testing while adhering to processes and workflows.
• Prepare all reports related to software testing.
• Ensure that testing is going hand in hand with the software configuration in all phases.
• Proactive and should be able to communicate between the teams, team player.
• Liaise closely with the Business to get a full understanding of the software requirements.
• Understanding all the processes and workflows defined for the software system.
• Be Responsible for understanding all the roles and permissions for each defined user of the system
• Present ideas for system improvements
• With NEIS system supplier document all manuals and guides for users including operating instructions and Updating project manager regularly about the progress of development and testing activities and results.
• Develop and test reports using technologies provided by the supplier

Skills/Qualifications required:

• Demonstrate experience of configuration of IT package solutions
• Demonstrate experience of developing reports using package technologies
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience of designing and writing test scenarios and test scripts documenting the results in an easy to follow method.
• Demonstrate sharp analytical skills and the ability to understand the requirements of the NEIS.
• Demonstrate strong Communication skills of engaging and liaising with Vendors
• A level 6 or 7 qualification in a relevant field or an appropriate business qualification at the same level.
• Any experience with Tririga and/or would be advantageous
