The Opportunity:

Your role supports UniSuper doing this by ensuring continuity of UniSuper services across Infrastructure & Cloud and the broader Platforms & Engineering team. The Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer forms a critical element in the delivery, deployment and operational transition for all Infrastructure related project and strategic initiatives across UniSuper.

This is a level 4 Infra and Cloud Engineer role is responsible for:

• Being the point of technical escalation for Platforms & Engineering Operations staff.
• Providing project support as required to deliver projects.
• Analysing system and network performance using monitoring and graphical data.
• Supporting L3 via diagnosing service issues and following them through to resolution.
• Work on all Infrastructure (Network, Compute, Storage, Backup and all things cloudy) aspects of projects, acting as technical lead or project engineer.
• Work with Operations L3 team to implement planned changes.
• Attain and implement proposals for improvements/optimisation to the network environment.
• Collaborate with vendors and engineers to drive the deployment throughout the project lifecycle and ensure proper solution delivery.
• Establish and implement network management policies and guidelines to ensure the maximum availability of UniSuper’s network
• Identify areas for improvement and development with the capability to implement industry best practices

To be successful you will ideally possess:

• Experience in a previous Infrastructure and Azure Cloud Engineering Role
• Experience in the use and support of monitoring and analysis tools; i.e splunk
• Knowledge and exposure to VMware, Ansible and Terraforms
• Knowledge and exposure to both Windows and Linux technologies. ( Active Directory, Clustering, etc)
• Knowledge of Containers ( eg :- AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc)
• Knowledge and exposure to Aruba NAC (ClearPass, WiFi, VPN) desirable.
• Knowledge of Data Centre technologies
• Knowledge of public cloud technologies and associated Network concepts to connect and consume services desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of Compute, Storage and Network functions
