We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to provide guidance, support and advice on our strategic programme of work to ensure the successful delivery of MIT’s and Unitec’s Kaupapa. This integral role will support the Senior Leadership Team by managing large complex programmes of work across numerous platforms, functions and processes and to support the development and implementation of the strategy. This unique opportunity requires a seasoned leader with proven ability to build relationships, influence at a senior level, and engage to facilitate understanding across multiple and diverse stakeholders. This is a fixed term assignment with intention to end December 2025.

Ngā mahi | Do

Programme Management: Scope and deliver the strategic programme of work at MIT and Unitec, ensuring all deliverables are met, projects are on time and resources are appropriately allocated.

Project Planning: Develop and manage project plans ensuring milestones are achieved and projects meet agreed outcomes and deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to ensure their engagement and input.

Reporting and Documentation: Provide SLT timely, accurate progress updates and reporting.

Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and manage deviations.

Issue Management: Identify and manage issues and risks with proactive solutions.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and inform the strategic directions of MIT and Unitec.

Applicants with a postgraduate level qualification in project management, and extensive project management experience with large, complex programmes across multiple internal and external stakeholders who are proficient in various project and change methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PROSCI); combined with an understanding of the vocational education sector will be given preference and encouraged to apply.
