We are searching for an innovative Associate Data Engineer to join our experienced team. This creative role offers an excellent opportunity to directly impact an innovative function and secure your future with an industry leader. This position is predominantly responsible for engineering to design, develop, implement, test, deploy, monitor and maintain the delivery of data in a systematic method. This role will cover all primary development and maintenance activities across all technology functions to ensure that we deliver data with high quality for our users, applications, and services and to understand customer needs/business requirements as an individual contributor to deliver business value. Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed.

Primary Responsibilities:
Accountable for data engineering lifecycle including research, proof of concepts, architecture, design, development, test, deployment and maintenance.
Develops and implements scripts for maintenance and monitoring
Demonstrates understanding of data structures
Knows modern tools and techniques
Stays current with evolving technologies
Schedules jobs to provide required operational support
Works within a domain to design and build data models
Works with guidance or on routine issues/activities
Has a basic understanding of how to work within a single primary platform
Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
Investigates non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others
Works exclusively within a specific knowledge area
Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines
Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years equivalent data engineering experience
2+ years of experience developing in Big Data tools such as Spark/Scala, Snowflake, Jenkins, GitHub, Maven, Parquet etc.
2+ years of experience gathering business requirements and analyzing data
2+ years of experience with client relations/customer service
2+ years of experience and capability to work multiplatform environments

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
