This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accurately inputs claim batches and keys all pertinent information from claims documentation, (including all fields from HCFA and UB04 forms) and office fee tickets (including ICD9 codes, ICD 10 and CPT coding).
• Verifies all data elements are available including member eligibility on claims prior to data entry.
• Coordinates with the Claims Manager and/or Claims Supervisor on workflow issues and the handling of first in first out order to ensure turnaround times are met.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
• Knowledgeable of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare experience
• Data entry experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word (create and edit correspondence), Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, and sort spreadsheets, basic analytical formulas (VLOOKUP, if), Microsoft PowerPoint (ability to create and edit slides), and Microsoft Access (edit and create tables, format, manipulate data, creating relational databases, advanced reports creation using queries)

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Must have a quite designated work space and access to install secure high-speed internet (minimum speed 1.5 download mps and 1 upload mps) via cable / DSL in home (NOTE: wireless/cell phone provider, satellite, microwave, etc… does NOT meet this requirement)
