Position summary
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on a mixed-methods project on youth volunteering in Ireland. The research will explore the barriers and enablers to youth volunteering, the factors that influence retention, the routes into volunteering, and related issues. The project will also identify and explore examples of innovative practice in involving young people in volunteering and how best to support volunteering across different organisations and sectors. Research methods will include a survey and interviews with representatives from voluntary organisations, and participatory workshops with young people aged 16-24.
The Post-Doctoral Researcher will be involved in all aspects of the research, including the design of the research instruments, conducting fieldwork, data analysis and the write-up of the research findings. The successful applicant will also be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the project.

Post Duration: 9.5 months
Salary: €41,207 – €47,477 p.a. (IUA PD1 Salary Scale), pro rata 0.4 FTE
