The Department of Education, Practice and Society (EPS) is a thriving multidisciplinary department at the UCL Institute of Education. It encompasses: (i) the domain areas of History, Philosophy and Sociology of Education; (ii) the fields of Comparative, International development, Further, Higher and Lifelong Education; and a number of research centres.
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Engineering and Education to teach on the MSc Engineering Education. Core duties will include acting as a Module Leader for either one of the extant modules or a new module. The postholder will contribute to teaching sessions of other modules and you will be supervising module assignments and dissertations. The successful candidate will generate ideas to contribute to the development of both the Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) and the Post 14 Centre for Education and Work’s funded research portfolios. We are therefore interested in applications from engineers who have a Social Science PhD or social scientists with a track record of researching aspects of Lifelong Learning (LLL).

The postholder will have a good first degree in an Engineering or a Social Science subject and a PhD in Social Science subject (candidates close to completion will not be considered). You will have evidence of a strong background in teaching in engineering and education, engineering and work and engineering and innovation. In addition, you will have substantial experience in curriculum design, innovation in teaching and membership of the Higher Education Academy, or comparable qualification.
