Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The main purpose of this role is to repair, service, maintain, and at times, design and fabricate electrical laboratory equipment and instrumentation which supports research and teaching activities for the School of Chemical Sciences.
This position will primarily support the School of Chemical Sciences which teaches and performs research in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, green chemical science, food science and nutrition, forensic science, and wine science, in a stimulating intellectual environment. They are very active in research, with over 30 academics involved in fundamental or applied research programmes, many in collaboration with other disciplines within the University including Biological Sciences, Physics, Engineering, and Medicine. Their postgraduate programme currently involves over 200 students who participate in this research effort and are at the forefront of advancing scientific knowledge.
This is a permanent, fulltime (37.5 hours/week) position.
Remuneration: $69,200 – $79,800 negotiable on experience

The Faculty of Science’s Technical Services Team comprises over 100 technical staff providing specialist support to the Faculty’s academic staff and students across 8 of the 10 Departments. They contribute technical knowledge and expertise to research and teaching activities while ensuring the ongoing operation and compliance of a vast range of laboratories, workshops, teaching facilities, research equipment, vehicles and boats.
