Applications are invited for the post of Addenbrookes Teaching Co-ordinator based within the Education Division of the School of Clinical Medicine, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The role holder will work closely with the other part-time Addenbrookes Teaching Co-ordinator to ensure delivery of the Addenbrookes’ based Clinical Teaching for up to 900 medical students.
The post holder will jointly co-ordinate clinical placements for students on the Standard and Graduate Medical Course during their placements in Medicine and Surgery attachments at Addenbrookes Hospital. This interesting role requires excellent communication skills as the development of good working relationships with Clinical and administrative staff based in both Cambridge and Regional Hospital Trusts is key. An ability to remain calm under pressure and troubleshoot solutions is required to ensure teaching can be accommodated around the busy and dynamic schedules of Clinicians working in A+E and other departments. Excellent attention to detail is required and a proactive approach to ensuring students are having an excellent teaching experience.
The role holder will also work closely with students to communicate their placements and to quickly solve any issues that arise, they will often be the first point of contact for students based in Addenbrookes for any support needs that arise. They will also work closely with Clinician’s to ensure students are inducted, teaching is delivered and assessments are completed.
An additional aspect of the role is to ensure volunteer patients are recruited to take part in students Clinical Examinations which take place from May ¿ July, and to manage the team of volunteer patients when they are on site. There is also oversight of the Addenbrookes Teaching Assistant who supports the work of the Co-ordinators.
