The post holder will be responsible for assisting and advising the Director of Public Health Training and the strategic lead for teaching in the Department of Public Health & Primary Care. They will manage the activities of the public health teaching office including responsibility for coordinating lectures, producing teaching resources including online materials, and acting as first point of contact for internal and external queries relating to teaching on the course. The post holder will lead and work closely with colleagues to ensure activities are carried out consistently and to a high standard, and to engage in continuous improvement.
Candidates must be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience with the ability to think flexibly and creatively, and to problem solve, be IT literate in word processing, spreadsheet, powerpoint, email and database applications and have a working knowledge of medical education in a University setting. You will have excellent interpersonal skills (the post holder will deal with a wide range of people, including senior academics and public figures) with the ability to negotiate, facilitate agreement, and forge partnerships. You will have the ability to use your own initiative and judgement and to be pro-active with good time management and ability to prioritise a diverse and changing workload. You will need excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, as well as high levels of written and oral communications skills.
The ideal candidate have knowledge of Programme/Course Coordination involving a critical understanding of relevant theory and/or principles of undergraduate medical education and an understanding of the organisational structure of the University.
This is a permanent full-time position, we do also welcome part-time applications of no less than 50% FTE per week.
