Āu Mahi | What You Will DoThe role of Pacific Communications Coordinator is to provide a high standard of professional communications support to the Pacific Development Team, MacMillan Brown Centre and Pacific Studies programs within the PAKC Hub. The Communications Coordinator collaborates with these entities to ensure our communication channels are always on and always ready. This role involves content creation, social media posting, internal announcement releases, and tracking and reporting analytics on communications campaigns and events.
Mōu | Who You AreThe preferred candidate will possess 1-3 years of experience in communications, with a focus on social media, marketing, or journalism. You will demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with Pacific communities in a culturally responsive way. Previous experience in project coordination is desirable, and proficiency in Pacific languages and te reo Māori is an added advantage. In the role of Pacific Communications Coordinator, strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as well as a keen eye for detail. You will provide innovative and creative communications locally, nationally and globally. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team is essential. You will also commit to upholding Pacific values, along with a commitment to the PAKC vision and the UC Pacific Strategy, is expected.
Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work WithUnder the leadership of the PVC Pacific, Director of MBC and PDT Director, the Pacific Communications Coordinator will be part of an exciting and diverse hub that provides extensive support, opportunities, programmes, and events for Pacific students at UC as well as some initiatives for UC staff and the wider community.
