This post is to lead and manage the International Admissions Team (20 Preston-based colleagues – with additional colleagues based overseas), within the International Recruitment Team at UCLan; which itself forms a part of the External Relations Service.
The postholder will be required to lead and manage the University’s centralised International Admissions team, and its processes, to deliver an excellent applicant experience to support the achievement of the University’s International recruitment and conversion objectives.
This role requires an enthusiastic, proactive approach and the post holder will need to be comfortable with identifying and addressing barriers to change to ensure the effective implementation of new ways of working.
The postholder will also be required to support the International Student Journey Manager with the continuous improvement of the admissions processes in an increasingly challenging external environment by ensuring that members of the team have clear objectives, efficient processes and effective working relationships with specialist teams across the institution and across the sector.
The postholder will also be responsible for supporting the International Student Journey Manager with the development and implementation of strategy and policies for all aspects of the international admissions process, with a particular focus on achieving a positive applicant experience to support conversion.
Working with key staff across the University the postholder will ensure fair, high quality and consistent international admissions policies and practices.
As a member of the International Admissions senior team, the postholder will deputise for the International Student Journey Manager at key University meetings where appropriate and proactively engage with Faculty staff to ensure the service is delivering for internal clients.
The postholder will hold a degree or equivalent experience of working within the international admissions function in a UK HEI; with significant management experience including recruitment, appraisal and performance management.
Experience of reviewing and revising business processes for continuous improvement would also be required.
