The Executive Assistant is part of a collaborative, inclusive office that interacts with the leadership of the university across academic and business units. The Executive Assistant reports directly to the Provost and with very general guidance acts on behalf of the Provost using Independent judgment to make decisions. The position manages the day to day operations of the Provost’s Office, serving as the primary point of contact between the office and the University community and external public, facilitates the work of select committees on which the Provost serves or which report to the Provost, and collaborates with the offices of the President, other Vice Presidents, Associate Provosts, Deans and others in support of various Provost and University initiatives.
The Executive Assistant is also responsible for the appropriate delegation to and oversight of work for the office staff.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
