This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

About the role

The University of Exeter’s Community Law Clinic (CLC) is looking for an experienced civil practitioner to join the law department in Exeter, Devon. The ideal candidate would be a highly skilled, motivated and passionate legal professional, who is dedicated to social justice, and can use their skills to make a real difference to the local community.

You will be expected to focus on teaching and supervising students on the University law clinic. There may be an opportunity to contribute to other teaching depending on skills and experience.

About you

You will:

• Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by relevant experience in practice or a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Law to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students
• Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities
• It is desirable that you have some evidence of excellent teaching where possible
• Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this
