About the role
Working as part of the Student and Education, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team within Education Services, you will be responsible for project management and support for specific student EDI projects and initiatives, with a focus on inclusivity and supporting the work of the University of Leicester Institute for Inclusivity in Higher Education (ULIIHE). You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the University’s approach to educational inclusivity, which seeks to create a welcoming, inclusive and enriching environment where all students can develop a sense of belonging and achieve their full potential, regardless of background.
About you
As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in a similar role with a well-developed understanding of the Office for Students’ requirements for Access and Participation Plans. You should have experience of managing projects that support the student experience and of providing secretariat support to committees or groups. The ability to analyse information and draft papers and reports to a high standard is essential, as are excellent organisation skills.
You will be outstanding communicator, able to build strong working relationships quickly, provide professional advice and guidance on a complex subject to non-experts and influence senior staff in decision making.
Above all you must have an understanding and strong commitment to equality, with an awareness of cultural diversity issues and their application to the student experience.
