The Ginsberg Center, is a civic and community engagement center that cultivates and stewards mutually beneficial partnerships between communities and the University of Michigan to promote social change through service, democratic participation, and community engaged learning. Based upon this mission, our vision is for inclusive democracy; thriving, diverse communities; and equity and social justice. We partner with undergraduate, graduate and professional students; faculty and program staff, and community partners to support their community-engaged efforts.
You will report to the Ginsberg Center’s Assistant Director for Community Partnerships. You will be in a hybrid role, located at the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus.

Responsibilities*
Manage relationships with university partners to understand departmental and disciplinary priorities and interests and steward their relationships with community partners.
Communicate and translate community-identified priorities and requests, and create materials and resources to support equitable and effective partnerships, for University of Michigan faculty, staff, or students who are potential participants in service, teaching or research.
Consult with faculty, academic partners, and student organization leaders to influence and facilitate their participation in community engagement and developing and maintaining effective community partnerships.
Provide project consultation and scoping of university opportunities to determine appropriate community collaborators and increase transparency and clarity of tangible outcomes for community partners that also support student learning.
Use Salesforce CRM to analyze data regarding university faculty and student research and project interests and capacities, and community/UM partnerships.
Co-Administer the Community Partnership Graduate Consultants cohort by developing program curriculum, facilitating professional development sessions, and program administration in collaboration with the Community Partnerships Program Manager and Academic Partnerships Manager
Co-lead weekly Matchmaking meetings with members of Ginsberg staff representing our various stakeholders’ interests
Required Qualifications*
Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education, Social Work, or related field
Minimum three years relevant experience in service learning, civic engagement and/or community needs assessment
Minimum three years experience working as part of a team or group, and independently, to accomplish goals, milestones, or impacts
Experience working on a large decentralized campus, with working knowledge of university infrastructure
Experience working in the academic arena on social justice education and civic engagement initiatives
Additional Information
This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.
Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/23 or after, will not be eligible for the university salary/merit plan in 2023 unless otherwise notified.
