University of New South Wales Hiring for Casual Software Developers, Capability Systems Centre Job at Canberra, Australia Full Time

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for Casual Software Developers for the Capability Systems Centre.

• About the role Rate: Level 7 – $68.20/hour
• Employment Term: Casual
• Location: Canberra, Australia

The Systems Modelling group at the Capability Systems Centre is looking to employ casual experienced software developers to work on leading-edge research projects on the development of dynamic and spatial decision analytics. The position will primarily be responsible for evolving the code-base of the existing modelling (i.e. simulation, optimization, statistical) tools. This includes the development of interactive visualization tools, and ensuring that the technical procedures, tools and ultimately the code produced is of high calibre, fit for purpose and scalable.

We’re looking for persons who:

• Hold a current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or above Defence Security Clearance.
• Contributes to the evolution of the existing code-base consultation with the other members of the project team.
• Provides technical input to, and technical requirements for the development of models and tools primarily in Java, and Python but in other languages as required for the project.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Have a passion for problem solving, and making a difference to the future of capability systems.
