Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for an highly organised individual with a passion for excellent customer service to join the
Admissions Service as an Admissions Assistant. This role sits within the dedicated and enthusiastic team of Student
Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions (SRMA). SRMA is organised into seven functional areas: Admissions Service, UK
Student Recruitment, Widening Participation, Communications, Insight, Marketing and Faculty Liaison. Throughout the
structure, members of the team engage proactively and positively in delivering and excellent customer experience which is
fully aligned with the University’s Student Recruitment Strategy.
Working flexibly, under the supervision of the Admissions Officers and Assistant Admissions Officers, you will be required to
take responsibility for a range of activities supporting the delivery of a high quality admissions service that will enable the
recruitment of suitably qualified students to the University.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills. You will have previous experience of working in a similar role
or busy office environment and good IT skills, including MS Office Word, Excel and databases. You will also need to have good
interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of responding efficiently and effectively to
phone. Online chat and email enquiries. You will possess the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to manage your
own time effectively whilst also be willing to work flexibly across a number of activities at once when necessary in order to
meet deadlines.
You will be required to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail and a high regard for the use of personal and
sensitive data in order to support Admissions Service compliance with external legal requirements and to provide a
consistent and excellent level of customer service.
Using the person specification, you should provide evidence in your application that you meet the essential criteria. We will
use a range of selection methods to measure your abilities in these areas including reviewing your online application, seeking
references, inviting shortlisted candidates to interview and other forms of assessment action relevant to the post.
