About the Role
The Standard II Software Engineer role is primarily responsible for leading the development of software for our Industry and University Customers, including maintenance, testing and technical transfer. Our projects are diverse, as are the technologies we use. This role is a great opportunity to develop new technical skills while working on innovative projects, however we expect Standard II Software Engineers to have a solid technical foundation in a number of areas listed in the Knowledge section of the Position Description.
We are currently looking for candidates with a track record of working, in small teams, delivering on small to medium projects. Our project pipeline covers the full spectrum of software applications, including cloud, web, embedded, IoT, machine vision, data science, industry automation, machine learning and robotics. If you’re working in one or more of these areas, we’d love to discuss the role with you.
As per the Position Description, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:
- Good analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting skills
- Keen to learn in a team environment and ability to learn fast are necessary
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Experience in at least one of C, C++, Python, Java, Javascript or C#
- Experience of developing on various platforms including Linux and optionally Android & iOS
- A track record of engagement with research teams and industry partners in a R&D context would be highly relevant
- Knowledge of two or more technology domains, as listed in the knowledge section of the position description
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $94,656 to $104,713 pa (HEW 7)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
