Your opportunity:
The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges regarding all matters relating to Arts & Science students. We are dedicated to making the A&S student experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate and administer a variety of services and programming to support personal, financial and academic planning, as well as registration and enrolment, student records, transfer credit, petitions, final examinations and graduation.
The Admissions & Recruitment Officer will report into the Associate Director, Admissions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Applying established standards when administering a process for consistent evaluation of applications
Analyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications; providing detailed explanations of admissions decisions
Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements
Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected
Delivering student recruitment presentations; drafting written materials for presentations
Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
Keeping well-informed on University programs, policiesand procedures
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Minimum four years related experience in undergraduate student recruitment and/or admissions, preferably in a large, post-secondary institution.
Experience reviewing and assessing applications for undergraduate admissions.
Knowledgeable about domestic and international education systems.
Demonstrated experience with issues related to domestic and international student recruitment, admission and university life.
Demonstrated experience presenting to large and diverse groups.
Proven event planning experience in the context of student recruitment.
Record of strong customer service orientation, initiative, diplomacy and attention to detail; tact in dealing with people at all levels and with people of varied cultural backgrounds.
Well-developed problem-solving skills is required.
Demonstrated organizational and time management ability.
Excellent computer skills, including in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Assets (Nonessential):
Preference will be given to applicants with experience and knowledge of University of Toronto policies and procedures.
Related marketing experience an asset.
Experience using ROSI, CRM systems and content management systems highly desirable.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 – $71,131 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,965. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
