Job Summary
Full-time, remote work eligible opportunity to assist with research data collection for the Melanoma and Sarcoma Disease Centers at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Utilize various clinical data sources to abstract information necessary for operational metrics, clinical research, and publications. Perform data entry and quality assurance of data. Run queries and creates reports. Assist with the development of data structures to capture research data elements. Maintain work practice documents that outline all data collection activities.

Responsibilities
1. Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources, including medical records; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal.
2. Runs queries and reports. Compiles datasets for analysis.
3. Edits and maintains work practice documents outlining the process for collection and quality assurance of data.
4. Prepares format for final disposition of data; maintains an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.
5. Will work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data. This will include attendance at regular meetings with team leaders.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

Preferences
· Experience with data entry and electronic data capture systems, like REDCap
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel
· Experience with EPIC , medical terminology, and cancer diagnostic terminology
· Ability to work as part of a team and also work independently
· Comfortable engaging with Informatics staff as well as clinicians, communicating effectively
