The Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science, Occupational Therapy ( OTD ) Program at the University of Vermont ( UVM ) is currently searching for two full time, 9-month clinical faculty positions at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor to begin in August, 2023.

Successful candidates must be an occupational therapist with at least 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Vermont, and hold a doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE – recognized institutional accrediting agency. An academic doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D, D.Sc) is strongly preferred as well as candidates with curriculum development experience and teaching experience at the college level. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience and advanced certifications in the area of adult rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation, or mental health, although other clinical practice areas will be considered. The UVM entry-level OTD program is a developing program; thus, we are seeking candidates with flexible and creative thinking who can help grow our program.

Preference will be given to candidates who have a record of

· Successful teaching at the college level and/or related field experience

· Experience with the ACOTE accreditation process

· Advising students

· Building successful partnerships with community agencies

· Promoting and engaging in practices that support student engagement and active learning

· Collaborating with university faculty and the community of practice.

Responsibilities for these positions include teaching, developing scholarship, assisting with the accreditation process, and performing service and clinical practice to support and advance the missions of the department, college, and university.

The Department and Program

The UVM Entry-Level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program is currently in the candidacy phase of accreditation. It is designed with a strong experiential learning component that blends the art and science of the occupational therapy profession. It is an integral component of the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The successful candidate will join a department with tenure track faculty, clinical faculty, lecturers, and staff that are dedicated to educating undergraduate and graduate students across eight programs.
