We currently have an opening for an outstanding candidate to join the Department of Economics as a Teaching Fellow specialising in any area of Economics. Applicants should share our passion for teaching and have the ability to motivate and inspire Warwick learners. Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake teaching within the Department of Economics to support the work of the Department and to develop and enhance its teaching reputation, both internally and externally.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To teach Economics under the direction of the Head of Department.
2. To develop own teaching materials, methods and approaches with guidance.
3. To identify learning needs of students and define appropriate learning objectives, ensuring that content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet these learning objectives.
4. To supervise the work of students, provide advice on and participate in study skill sessions and help students in solving a variety of learning problems.
5. To select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.
6. To undertake academic duties (such as marking and invigilation) required to sustain the delivery of high-quality teaching.
7. To attend departmental meetings and to contribute to Departmental life through a strong presence within the Department and engagement with Department activities, as well as a willingness to undertake required administrative duties.
8. To assist in the preparation of proposals or applications to external bodies.
9. To continue your own personal and professional development through engaging in research, attending departmental and institutional seminars and national/international conferences.
