The Student Life and Wellbeing team works to enhance all aspects of student life and experience at the University and is part of the Student and Academic Services Directorate. The team delivers a wide range of proactive and responsive wellbeing services to students and staff.
The Student Support and Advice team is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated individual to join the team, the purposes of which are to take a leading role in the key area of the delivery and implementation of targeted support and bespoke initiatives for under-represented student groups, as agreed in our Access and Participation Plan, and to provide exemplary advice and guidance to students. Working collaboratively, the role is critical to delivering and enabling access to an extensive range of advice and support for students. The role addresses specific student needs by identifying, developing and delivering interventions that support student retention, continuation and academic success.
You will play a key role in enabling the delivery of our Access and Participation Plan and improving our performance against agreed outcome measures by providing services that integrate target groups, leading the development and delivery of interventions that support and promote retention, continuation and academic success through a mix of bespoke provision as well as activities that connect students with a range of mainstream support.
This will include providing exemplary advice and guidance to students and holding a student caseload, along with the line management of a Student Support and Advice Officer.
You will work with others to lead, develop and implement a programme of interventions in order to ensure students from these groups have a sense of belonging with the University and undertake innovative and effective interventions that contribute to increased retention and academic success of students.
