Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees or conducts training in assigned technical area(s).

• Works cooperatively with the Laboratory Operations Manager and Technical Supervisor. 

• Maintains laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs for assigned technical area(s).

• Assists in the development of new laboratory procedures.

• Maintains adequate inventory for assigned area(s). Communicates inventory needs to Lab Operations Manager.  

• Recommends ways to promote continuing quality improvement, customer service and employee satisfaction. 

• All other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications and Skills:​

• Bachelor of Science degree required with Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science or nursing preferred, or equivalent qualifications under CLIA personnel guidelines.

• Certification by an accredited medical laboratory science or medical technology accrediting agency required.

• A minimum of seven (5) years’ experience in a clinical or medical office laboratory.

• Basic knowledge of data entry and patient demographics

• Ability to maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of logs.

• Ability to perform, document, and maintain quality control records consistent with all regulatory requirements.

• Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically.

• Excellent verbal communication skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, staff, and physicians.
