Gathers basic hydrologic data concerning the quantity, quality, availability, movement, and distribution of water. Collects sediment and bed samples from the Colorado River and other waterways in the Yuma area.
Collects water samples from various locations for chemical and microbiological testing, which requires extreme care to prevent contamination of samples and to maintain constant temperature. Assures that the samples are properly labeled and sent to laboratories for chemical analysis.
Operates motor vehicles, and trucks to conduct field/site inspections related to well inventory, water sampling and field survey work.

Specialized Experience: One year (full time) of specialized experience which includes 1)Taking water measurements from a variety of flow instrumentation, 2) Operating a variety of hydrologic measuring instruments OR 3) Obtaining water quality data from designated locations.

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
