A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Councils Directorate of Learning & Skills in partnership with schools, directorate colleagues and other partners to raise standards in the delivery of Welsh Education and actively support the Councils ambitions to increase the number of Welsh learners. Our overarching aim is to increase the number of Year 1 children taught through the medium of Welsh to 24% by 2031-32 (approximately 390 year one places).

About the role

Pay Details: Grade 9 SCP 31-35 £37,261 to £41,496

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 (Monday to Friday)

Main Place of Work: Civic Offices

Temporary Reason: temporary funding. The post is temporary until March 2025

Description:

The successful post holder will work in partnership with Schools and all directorate teams in order to ensure that the councils ambitions as outlined in the Welsh Education Strategic Plan 2022-32 are realised, coordinating all aspects of the WESP business and performance management.

About you

You will need:

• Appropriate academic qualifications to degree or equivalent level
• The ability to speak Welsh or give a firm commitment to learn
• Experience of supporting, inspiring and motivating others.
• Experience of working as a member of a team
• knowledge of Welsh Language legislation and Welsh and Local Government strategies.
