VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our clients’ business in Maribyrnong, VIC. Our client, Western General Bodyworks, is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills. Western General Bodyworks is a leading vehicle repair shop with over 40 years of experience and presence in almost all major cities of Australia. They specialise in accident repairs, towing, car rentals, etc.

The responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems (iBodyshop).
• Writing, designing, and maintaining user-friendly code.
• Actioning and executing full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Identifying limitations in existing systems as well as integrating new software components.
• Website development and maintenance.
• Integration of website with other systems via API.
• Diagnosing and correcting programming faults.
• Improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures
• Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations, and designing and implementing systems
• Maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes
• Liaising with our external IT contractors to implement technical designs
• Investigating and using new technologies where relevant
• Providing written knowledge transfer material

Qualifications and experience:

• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields is essential
• Three years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification. OR Substantial work experience in a relevant role.
• Minimum of 2 years experience for candidates who have accessed their skills and experience with ACS.
• Proven technical experience in own technical specialism.
• Expected to be competent in undertaking a range of technical support activities.

Remuneration: $90,000 + superannuation
