Ventia is seeking a full-time Leading Hand to join our dedicated and busy Transmission Lines Team based in Greymouth.

In this role, you will be expected to provide supervision, direction, and support to the Transmission Lines Team undertaking maintenance tasks and projects in the South Island area supporting our Transpower NZ Contracts.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a busy, sole-charge role, leading a team of experienced linemen, arborists, and trainee linesmen.

Key requirements:

• Experience in leading a crew
• Significant Transmission Lines Industry qualifications and work experience including asset maintenance and fault response experience
• Highly organised with excellent leadership and communications skills
• Able to demonstrate an understanding and adherence to the Health and Safety practices of the Transmission Lines and Electrical Services Industry
• Excellent planning, cost management, and resource management skills required
• Physically fit, with the ability and willingness to maintain required physical fitness levels.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 1 minimum) and experience driving appropriate vehicles on and off-road in all weather conditions.

There is a strong focus on Health and Safety in this role. The ideal candidate will need to be a team player, highly motivated, and organised.
