Venues Ōtautahi Looking for Venue Manager at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

Venues Ōtautahi venues attract and host a wide range of events in Christchurch and manage a diverse and iconic portfolio of community venues. Venues Ōtautahi own and manage both the Christchurch Town Hall and Wolfbrook Arena, and manage Orangetheory Stadium, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of NZ and Te Kaha, the new Canterbury Multi Use Arena due to open in April 2026.

The events held across the Venues Ōtautahi portfolio deliver significant social, cultural, and economic benefit to the region and ultimately these iconic city venues play a valued role to the Christchurch way of life and the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region.

About The Role

Venues Ōtautahi is delighted to be accepting applications for 2 Venue Manager roles within our Operations Team.

In either of these roles, you could be working across a variety of our venues, leading the delivery of events within them. From sporting events to concerts to corporate events or expos, there is never a dull moment at Venues Ōtautahi.

The Venue Manager role is a hands-on leadership position, and the successful applicant will play an important role in the support of the wider operational and event delivery teams. They will ensure the seamless delivery of our events and provide a customer focused communication pathway between our Event Managers, Clients, Suppliers, Event delivery team members and our Guests.

About You

This role will suit someone with a background in venue or event management in a similar type of environment.

You will be highly organised, possess excellent communication skills and be confident to lead and drive our operational and delivery teams during events.

You will be a team player who enjoys a helping where needed and building positive customer service focused relationships. We work as one team to support the overall goals and objectives Venues Ōtautahi’s business.

Confident, humble, courageous, and collaborative, you will be experienced in a customer service-oriented environment that includes working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. We are in the venues and events business and to be successful in the role, you will need to be a strong communicator who is willing to go the extra mile.
