Job Description
As Head of Service Introduction and Transition you will be the main driver in the safe delivery of new services into our Managed Services Practice, ensuring transition processes are implemented effectively to enable the successful delivery of stable, secure and reliable services.
You will work alongside application specialists, service professionals and project managers taking ownership of designing, developing and implementing innovative solutions around Service Introduction Governance – policy, process and standards – that will improve operational effectiveness and services.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a Governor of Service Transition and an ITIL subject matter expert for Service Introduction and Transition, providing guidance, training and building relationships across the team to drive the maturity of Service Management for our Oracle Applications Practice.
You’ll be responsible for:
The co-ordination and effective delivery of well controlled and governed service introduction and service management, in line with best practice, agreed service standards and strategic objectives.
The management and oversight of a central pipeline of Design and Service Transitions
Overseeing services/products transitioning into support for our Oracle Applications Practice
The oversight of the design and transition process, ensuring that all parties follow agreed processes and engagement.
The management of Acceptance into Service and Go Live decisions, ensuring that service risks are understood and fully documented.
Acting as the main point of contact for suppliers and key stakeholders to enable successful management of transition activities.
The provision of estimated support costs associated with new products or services.
Ensuring that the final delivery of each service transition meets the agreed customer and stakeholder requirements specified in the service design.
Ensure delivery is consistent with the agreed delivery model and standards.
Manage escalations appropriately to avoid any impact on overall delivery.
Qualifications
You’ll ideally have the following skills and experience:
A background in operational IT Service and a passion for protecting Production services via an agreed service design framework
Experience of working in a complex and fast paced environment
Able to build strong working relationships with 3rd party suppliers and key stakeholders across Version 1
Able to manage and drive the performance of teams and suppliers
Experience of ServiceNow would be advantageous
A self starter who is well organised and can manage their workload effectively
PMP certification and ITIL certifications are desired
