The Director will be responsible for the U.S. Consumer Prepaid Product category and be a core member of the U.S. Prepaid Product team responsible for developing and supporting the payment growth strategy for Visa’s Prepaid products. In addition to the key responsibility of product management and support, the Director U.S. Consumer Prepaid Product will be responsible for developing and driving the growth strategy and initiatives for Consumer Prepaid. He/she will leverage Visa (and external) data to analyze trends and uncover new growth opportunities, as well as have accountability for maintaining core product infrastructure and serve as the subject matter expert for internal and external business partners. This role will include extensive engagements with senior members of Visa’s North America Product, US Digital Partnerships, Visa Direct, Government Relations, Marketing and Legal teams – as well as various external stakeholders including interactions with industry & trade associations (e.g., IPA, APA, etc.), regulators, Prepaid issuers & processors, program managers, and other players in the market. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of prepaid products, as well as a broad perspective and acumen of the payments industry, as well as experience in product management and strategy. Wide-ranging experience and insight across the payments environment, from traditional banking to retail distribution, to FinTech’s and neo-banks, are ideal to bring to this role. Innovation and vision are also critical aspects for this role and key in driving continued leadership and growth in consumer payments through Prepaid. This is a critical position in the U.S. Prepaid organization and will be based in San Francisco/Foster City/Miami. Although alternative locations will be considered for the right candidate. Specific Responsibilities: * Own product management and P&L responsibility for Visa’s Consumer Prepaid card products, includes managing budget and forecasting. * Manage and maintain Visa’s cash load network, Visa ReadyLink. * Develop and maintain market and regulatory landscape assessment, product performance and benchmarking, and competitive intelligence; leverage Visa analytics and industry research to inform product strategies and product development roadmap. * Serve as thought leader and SME for Consumer Prepaid, both internally and with Visa partners, including issuers, program managers and other stakeholders – drawing connection between industry trends, product performance, consumer insights (i.e. attitudes, behavior, preferences, needs, etc.) and resulting product strategies. * Lead ideation, research and product design efforts related to new use cases, as well as initiatives and strategies aimed at increasing card usage and enhancing cardholder experience overall. * Develop and enhance product specific analytical tools and reporting for use internally and by Consumer Prepaid program partners to drive acquisition/usage/retention strategy and manage product performance. * Work collaboratively with key business partners (e.g. Account Executives, Marketing, Research, Data Analytics, Global Product, Pricing, Legal, etc.); will be highly reliant on strong influence and change management skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships. * Support Request for Proposal (RFP) and new business development opportunities, as and when required. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs. Basic Qualifications: • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications: • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial services or payments with expertise in card industry, in particular Prepaid cards, strongly preferred • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred • In-depth understanding of the electronic payments marketplace, regulatory environment, merchants and issuers • Experience working in a large cross-functional product team • Exceptional analytical skills and fact-based approach to product management • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness at all levels, with ability to influence at senior levels • Excellent written and oral communicator, with experience in presenting information to all levels and with ability to facilitate large group discussions • Strategic thinker with ability to assess complex business environments and translate them into actionable plans Visa has adopted a COVID-19 vaccination policy to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees and visitors.
