Co-located in Papatoetoe and Grey Lynn

Full Time (40 hours per week)

We are a well-established NGO within the community sector with over 35 years’ experience facilitating group support programmes for women who have experienced domestic violence. We recognise the role of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the necessity of providing evidence-based, culturally appropriate practice. Our programmes are approved by MSD, MOJ and Corrections and we have a highly skilled team committed to supporting the safety and wellbeing of our wahine.

This role is key to our team, as you will be the first point of contact. You will take care of all referrals, ensuring they are assessed and triaged into the right programme.

The Service Coordinator reports to the General Manager, but works closely with staff, Contractors, partner agencies, stakeholders, and clients.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is well informed, open to new learning, compassionate and with a can-do attitude.

You will be responsible for:

• Liaising regularly with nominated agencies and government departments to receive referrals for ICWG
• Contacting clients and undertaking a preliminary assessment to determine which group would be the most appropriate for them to attend
• Liaising with Facilitators about group programmes, assessments, and individual client work, including providing administrative support
• Liaising with and supporting clients with enrolment processes
• Follow up of non-attendance by participants where this may be required
• Ensuring all required records are maintained and kept up to date and prepare accountability reports as required
• Liaising with agencies such as: Courts, Lawyers, Corrections; OT, and social services

You will have the following skills and experience:

• A qualification in Social Services or a similar field
• Experience working within the family and sexual violence sector.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of family violence dynamics
• Can carry out risk assessment and safety planning effectively where appropriate to do so.
• Ability to work cross-culturally
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Skills in self-management, including time-management, self motivation, self awareness and the ability to work independently
• Technological savvy – able to learn new systems quickly
• Administration savvy – use initiative and look for improvements, and
• A clean criminal history
