Vital Research Hiring for Research Associate I (Remote) at Los Angeles, CA Full Time

Vital Research partners with local and state governments, non-profits, foundations, corporations, and others to evaluate the implementation and impact of social programs. We are seeking a Research Associate I to assist in the coordination and implementation of research and evaluation projects across several focus areas, including aging & disabilities, community services, education, and health. Responsibilities include drafting materials and protocols, participating in data collection activities, entering data, providing field support, report writing, and other project tasks and activities.

This role is involved in the full cycle of research and evaluation from contributing to the overarching design and data collection protocol development to recruiting field interviewers and participants, creating outreach materials and documentation, collecting data, and performing quality assurance audits to ensure protocols are being followed. Basic data analysis and writing about results descriptively are also part of this position.

Responsibilities*

• Conduct literature reviews.
• Draft instruments and data collection protocols.
• Coordinate and participate in data collection activities (e.g., survey programming, administration, testing, case studies, quality checks, training, etc.).
• Enter quantitative and qualitative data and perform basic data analysis.
• Participate in stakeholder/client meetings, take effective meeting minutes, and distribute among the team.

• Format documents, such as training materials and surveys.
• Coordinate printing and mailing of materials.
• Utilize mapping software to create data maps.
• Audit and correct data errors to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Communicate with field staff and provide technical support and coordination.

• Assist with writing reports and proposal creation utilizing data visualization.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related social science field or equivalent.
• 3+years related experience in the research and/or evaluation field (qualitative research methods).
• Understanding of fundamental research and evaluation principles, field concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Experience working with diverse populations and individuals with disabilities.

• Possess superior field and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Ability to work in a remote environment, work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
• Solid working knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
