Responsibilities/Duties

VSI (Vonachen Services Inc) is looking to fill a floor care technician/project position at a manufacturing facility in Des Moines, IA. Job duties include buffing floors, stripping old wax and applying a new wax coat, shampooing carpet and scrubbing the no-wax floors. When there are no special floor projects this person would assist with any daily tasks needing to be completed such as a janitor route, operating a ride on sweeper scrubber, and assisting with recycling.

Required Skills

Experience with stripping, waxing, and using a side to side buffer preferred, but not required. Applicant must be reliable and have an eye for detail. The position will include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, a lot of walking and lifting up to 40 pounds. Must have a strong sense of work quality and be capable of working in a heavy manufacturing environment. Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Details

The pay rate is $14.50/hour with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) and STD, vacation and holidays.

3rd Shift

Although this position is labeled “Floor Care Technician” when there are no floors to scrub, strip, wax, or carpet to clean this person will act as a floater doing some janitorial work, tour prep, or anything that may need to be done at the time.
