We’re seeking a talented Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our fast-moving team. If you are passionate about back end technologies and want to join a dynamic and innovative team, we would love to hear from you!

What you’ll be working on:

• Owning new features and enhancements end to end on Vyrill’s backend platform
• Collaborating with the frontend and AI/ML teams to rapidly deliver results
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues as they arise
• Excelling as a team member of a fast-paced startup with high productivity

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend/server-side engineer (2+ years experience with a small to medium company is a big plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Python (nice to have)
• Experience working with MongoDB, including all aspects
• Knowledge of ORMs/ODMs such as Mongoose and Sequelize
• Comfort creating and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Working knowledge of GraphQL, preferably on AWS AppSync
• Deep knowledge of AWS, especially Lambda, API Gateway, and SQS
• Experience implementing OAuth 2.0 workflow
• Expert understanding of DevOps workflows and infrastructure tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and shell scripting
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
• Experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably a small tech startup
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think in terms of the big picture while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Strong sense of ownership and proactive approach
• Loves to ship code with the highest quality standards at an accelerated release cadence

Vyrill is headquartered in San Francisco, with our global remote team members in North America, Europe, and India.
